We’re in the middle of Patagonia Advocate week! Until November 21st, Patagonia will be donating $10 to the Appalachian Mountain Club for every pair of Patagonia shoes they sell at Planet Shoes . The Appalachian Mountain Club is all about protecting the Appalachian wilderness through education and direct action. Their volunteers run workshops, classes, outreach, and maintain over 1,500 miles of trails

I will hope you will join me on September 24 in the No Impact Project's mini-march from the George Washington Statue in New York City's Union Square up Broadway and then across town the Dag Hhammarskjold Plaza for a rally in front of the United Nations. This is part of 350.orgs Moving Planet event which is taking place in over 168 countries

Sign up today for No Impact Week, kicking off January 2nd with YES! When we at the No Impact Project first launched our immersion program in extreme environmental living— No Impact Week —I didn't dream that more than 15,000 people would participate in only a year and a half. After all, we’ re not talking about 15,000 people taking a couple of hours out of their day to attend a political rally or protest environmental issues.

We talked not too long ago about generating energy with bodily fluids , and more weird sources of renewable energy seem to be popping up every day. Now, a park in Cambridge, Massachusetts is trying out lamp posts powered with dog poop. If common courtesy isn’t enough to get dog owners to pick up after their pets, maybe this MIT-funded project will do the trick! The Park Spark Project uses an underground Methane Digester to turn doggie waste into usable energy
